Continuing Professional Education and CPR Certification
Dentists are required to complete 50 hours of continuing professional education (CPE). Dental Hygienists are required to complete 24 hours of CPE. Both Dentists and Dental Hygienists are required to maintain current CPR certification.
Effective with the 2012 renewal, you are no longer required to submit a report of your CPE and CPR certification before your license is renewed. Instead, a percentage of licensees will be randomly selected for audit of their CPE and CPR following the renewal. Retain copies of your CPE completion certificates in the event you are selected for audit. Do not send CPE or CPR documentation to the Board office unless you receive an audit letter.
Effective with the 2014 renewal, you will be required to have completed at least two CPE hours in a course covering infection control.
See Section 6.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations for more information about CPE and renewal requirements.
